Georgia is still one of the best-value trips in the wider European region. It also isn't as cheap as some older blog posts suggest: hotel prices in Tbilisi and Batumi have risen, and wine is marked up hard in restaurants.
This guide costs a realistic 14-day route using 2026 prices from Georgian transport operators and recent on-the-ground price guides.

Costs people forget
- Mandatory travel insurance: since 1 January 2026, you need at least GEL 30,000 of medical cover to enter Georgia.

- Kutaisi airport transfers. Low-cost flights often land in Kutaisi, 3–4 hours by road from Tbilisi.
- Wine markups. Restaurants often charge 3–4× the shop price. Wine bars and cellar doors are far better value.
- Tips. Some restaurants add a service charge to the bill. Check before tipping again.
